30 Dec Between December 24 and 31, 1944
To Franz von Tattenbach SJ
Dear Tatt,
I don’t know what plans, etc., you have. But perhaps you’re still going to turn up here again….
Now what can we do for Reisert? I wouldn’t have imagined that he’d come to the end of his reserves so quickly. After all, his situation isn’t really serious. He let himself be talked into a couple of stupid things….We’re certainly helping him….
Thanks for everything, Tatt. Christmas was lovely and peaceful. I was able to put some distance between myself and my worrisome situation. Midnight Mass was my most beautiful Mass ever. Sometimes I have the feeling that I should do nothing more, that God has his own ways and means.
But at the same time, God often fashions his answer out of our many small efforts. All the best for 1945. Can I have a directorium (ordo)?
God reward you.
Georg
